The Innovation Expo in Sioux Falls is a conference focusing on connecting entrepreneurs, innovators, angel investors, venture capitalists, and the many others who are involved in developing startup companies. The event will consist of speakers, breakout sessions, and networking focusing on the entrepreneurial community.
Brian is a serial entrepreneur and Certified Public Accountant with seven profitable businesses. He studied Accounting at Montana State University and International Studies at Osaka International University. He also worked for PriceWaterhouse in Tax and KPMG in Audit. Brian is an Ironman finisher and very active in charities that focus on reducing human trafficking such as, www.weareunseen.org. Brian also teaches new entrepreneurs how to start businesses through the Co.Starters platform.
Brian has a track record of taking old technology and reinventing it to align with today's markets, while also growing demand. Some examples include a drain plug (www.smartoplug.com), High Voltage Inspection for retreads (www.hawkinson.com) and most recently, gym equipment (www.prxperformance.com). The latter recently landed Brian on ABC's Shark Tank, where he successfully landed a deal with Kevin O'Leary.
By taking advantage of digital tools and trends in social media and crowdfunding, Brian has succeeded in making these projects a reality at minimal cost. Finally, Non-Qualified Stock options have allowed him to gain support across all business units with minimal capital expenditures. During this session, Brian will share his opinion and vision on how to modernize any industry by bringing awareness to current trends and tools of millennials and successful startups.
Trevor Nash-Keller is a Sioux Falls based entrepreneur. He is the Founder and CEO of Nash-KellerMedia, a digital marketing agency specialized in scaling businesses online. With a strong ability to use data-driven methods to spot trends, Trevor has helped develop and implement cutting edge strategies to explode the overall growth of local, national, and international brands.
Mike Vetter has been working to build innovative companies for the past 10 years in various roles as an executive, board member, investor, and advisor. His currently serves as President and CTO of DataSync Corporation, a national sales/marketing software advisory firm he founded. DataSync is based in Sioux Falls and employs over 30 people. Mike also currently serves Sioux Falls as a director for Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship. Mike is passionate about serving the South Dakota entrepreneurial community and encouraging others to innovate.
Coy is the Founder and CEO of Mantis Digital Arts, a UX/UI Designer for rich data applications at EV Technologies, and is an experienced Product manager who has managed development and marketing for multiple technology products - some generating as much as 42 million annually.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Awesomeness at DocuTAP, Eric McDonald has always been an entrepreneur with a dream. After seeing the future of hand-held devices could play in healthcare, he started developing the DocuTAP application in his basement shortly after college. In 2000, Eric officially began DocuTAP with the support of angel investors. The medical software company offers a cloud-based, integrated EMR and Practice Management software made for tablets to hundreds of urgent cares clinics. Currently employing over 200 employees in Sioux Falls, DocuTAP is a regional Cinderella start-up story—and Eric's personal dream, achieved.
Dusty is a technology entrepreneur located on the Silicon Prairie. Over the past 9 years, he has built a reputation as one of the leading innovators and advocates for technology startups in the Midwest. Companies founded by Dusty include Tripleseat - A software-as-a-service company selling event management software to restaurants and hotels nationwide; Silicon Prairie News / Big Omaha - The voice for entrepreneurs, startups and innovators in the middle of the country; and most recently Flywheel – a platform built specifically for web designers and agencies building WordPress websites – and one of the fastest growing technology startups in Nebraska.
Mr. Malloy is responsible for the leadership and coordination of all facets of Profile, including the development and implementation of new corporate owned stores, the franchise network and other options to enter the market through partnerships and business relationships.
Mr. Malloy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Northern Iowa and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Kansas School of Law. Nate began his career at Sanford Health in March of 2013.
Edie Ramstad is the owner of Weave Got Maille, the third largest supplier of chainmaille supplies in the world. Trained as a Goldsmith, Edie has a love of all things crafty and can't remember a time when she wasn't making something. When she retired in 2011, she had a thought that she should have a hobby business to fill a little time. This hobby turned into Weave Got Maille. The company now employs 15 people and ships product all over the world.
Laura Benson started Filly Flair in 2010 with very little investment and knowledge of the fashion industry or the tech world. With a lot of self teaching, and insane amounts of work that go into startups, she learned how to build her own first website, and start building a brand on social media with no money. 5 years later, they have grown into a huge online retailer with 30 employees, and also have recently opened a flagship store in Sioux Falls. She is a dreamer, a strong Christian, and is always working on her next big idea. She will forever be a farm girl and accredit her ability to almost never stop working, to her upbringing on a dairy farm.
